We built a 360° VR alternative instead: real site visits captured on location, turned into an immersive training environment inspectors can go through from anywhere.

Trainees move through the same visual checks and decision points they'd face on a real inspection — spotting damage, corrosion, structural faults — without the travel cost or the wait for site access.

The timing turned out to matter more than planned: it launched right before COVID-19 hit, and became one of the only ways DNV could keep inspector training running when travel stopped altogether.
